Crocodile farm

Experience one of the most exciting attractions at Mamba Village Centre — the famous Crocodile Farm, recognized as one of the largest crocodile farms in Africa and a major tourist destination in Mombasa.

The crocodile farm is home to hundreds of crocodiles of different ages and sizes, offering visitors a rare opportunity to learn about crocodile conservation, breeding, behavior, and habitat in a safe and educational environment. The centrepiece of the farm is the legendary Big Daddy, the oldest and largest crocodile at the facility. Big Daddy was transferred from the Tana River in 1986 and is estimated to be over 100 years old. Measuring approximately 5 meters long and weighing more than 950 kilograms, he remains one of the most fascinating attractions at the centre.

Visitors can observe Big Daddy relaxing in his specially designed pond alongside his companions while enjoying the warm coastal climate of Mombasa. One of the most thrilling experiences at the farm is the crocodile feeding session held daily at 5:00 PM, with the special feeding of Big Daddy taking place every Friday at 5:00 PM. These feeding sessions attract tourists, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts from across the region.

The farm also gives guests the opportunity to witness young crocodiles hatching and learn more about the life cycle and conservation efforts surrounding these remarkable reptiles. Combined with nature walks, guided tours, and educational experiences, the Crocodile Farm provides an unforgettable adventure for families, tourists, students, and wildlife lovers visiting Mamba Village Centre.
